Statistics and Estimates
- Population: U.S. Census Bureau, July 1, 2025 estimates.
- Estimated dogs: approximate 2016 benchmarks based on American Pet Products Association data. These are historical estimates, not current counts of licensed or registered dogs.
- Puerto Rico: a comparable state-level dog count was not available, so we use an approximate midpoint of an unofficial range.
- Counties: county and county-equivalent counts follow U.S. Census geographic definitions.

Photos, illustrations, and any sample dog license card shown on the Site are for illustration only. They are not real licenses, are not official documents, and do not represent the design of any specific jurisdiction.
No Fees for Information
We do not charge for the information on this Site. Any license fees are paid directly to the government agency or authorized office that issues your license.
